Andrew McKeachie is a Senior Attorney with Cortez & Associates, PLLC. He is an experienced litigator who has represented clients across the state since 2017. Andrew has primarily devoted his practice to the representation of healthcare professionals and institutions in malpractice actions and other matters. He has also represented individuals at depositions, handled physician contract reviews, and other legal handled cases involving automobile insurance defense, premises liability, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Prior to joining Cortez & Associates, PLLC, Andrew practiced for several years at a firm in Detroit. He also previously worked at a local insurance defense firm, and a boutique medical malpractice defense firm in the Lansing area.
Andrew attended law school at Michigan State University College of Law, where he spent a year working in the Housing Law Clinic. He also clerked for a small firm in Okemos, and interned with the State of Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Prior to law school, Andrew graduated from Hope College with a degree in Political Science, where he also competed as a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Andrew and his wife live in Royal Oak, where enjoy walking with their dog and new baby to local parks, restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops. In his free time Andrew also enjoys running, golfing, and other outdoor activities. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan – Negligence Law Section, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel association, and the Michigan Society for Healthcare and Risk Management.
